Abstract:
Objective: The pandemic with the novel coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) has created great interest in the use of immune supporting and antiviral therapies that span pharmaceuticals, herbs, and supplements that include Ayurvedic herbs as well. However, a summary of the evidence for immune supporting and antiviral activities are missing. We provide an evidence based overview of the current state of knowledge and evidence for antiviral effects and review the evidence that specifically relates to SARS-CoV-2.
