Type of Study
This is a reanalyzis of gene expression data derived from publicly available
transcriptome datasets to test age-related change in gene expression
heterogeneity. A combined group of datasets consist of human brain gene
expression data generated on microarray platforms. In total, the authors
obtained 1,017 samples from 298 individuals, spanning the whole lifespan
with ages ranging from 0 to 98 years.
Ayurveda is well known to differentiate individuals from each other,
even those with the same prakr̥ti, gender, and age, so variations in these
factors make Ayurveda more complex. Yet scientific information on such
issues as age may not only help Ayurvedic practice, but advancement of the
Ayurvedic knowledge.
