Although most people, especially formally educated Ayurveda
practitioners, refer to standard books to recommend herbs for
health in food and drinks, Ayurveda highly recommends a
seasonal lifestyle to include food, dress, and music.
Saboodana or sago pearls are prepared from sago palm stems
(Metroxylon sagu) and contain carbohydrates in the form of
starch. It also contains some amount of calcium, potassium, iron,
folic acid, and vitamin B. Sago is mostly grown in Southeast Asia,
Malaysia, and Indonesia. It also grows in India, where sago pearls
are prepared from sago roots as well.
